Todd Beer is an Associate Professor in the Department of Sociology and Anthropology at Lake Forest College north of Chicago. He teaches courses on environmental sociology, social movements, globalization, racism, and quantitative methods among others. He has a PhD in sociology from Indiana University. His research examines policy opinions of climate change protestors, the global spread of environmental norms, and the interaction between global and domestic organizations. His publications appear in Sociological Perspectives, The Global South, the International Journal of Sustainability in Higher Education, an Oxford Handbook, and Contexts. He is currently on the editorial board of Contexts and has edited a special issue of Social Sciences on climate justice. His TEDx talk on climate justice is available here.
